Abstract

The thrust of this research is to study the primary and secondary metabolites present in Butea monosperma commonly known is ‘Flame of forest’ and Bastard Teak called as palasha or palas in Marathi and widely distributed throughout India. Possessing precious therapeutic properties in ayurveda this study concludes the presence of secondary metabolites and quantitative presence of primary metabolites such as protein, carbohydrates  and reducing sugars in aqueous extract, ethanol, methanol, acetone extracts of Butea monosperma. Which represents the nutritive and medicinal values of the Butea monosperma., Alkaloids, Flavanoid, Saponins, Terpenoid, Sterols, Phenols ,Tannins, Reducing sugars are present in variation in extracts. Also the quantitative analysis is done.
