Abstract

In this paper, the membership function of the system performance measure with bulk arrival queues of two and three parameters has been determined through the parametric programming problem approach. This method can be applied to transform a bulk arrival fuzzy queue into a family of bulk arrival crisp queues based on Zadeh's extension concept. The fuzzy bulk arrival queue upon the FM[x]/FM/S model has been solved by a parametric programming problem approach using an α-cut technique with trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. The model is validated using a numerical example using two alternative models: one with a different arrival rate and a uniform service rate, and the other with a different arrival rate and a corresponding service rate.
