Abstract

Good fitness training for cricket players should include Endurance, Sprint Fitness & Speed, Agility, Quickness (SAQ), Muscular Strength, Flexibility and Cricket specific training. In the present study, an attempt has been made to compare speed endurance between male batmen and bowlers. For the Purpose of the study Thirty Six (N= 36) male inter university cricket players 18 Batsman and 18 Bowlers of various faculty who have participated in the inter university cricket tournament from Kurukshetra University, were selected as subjects for the study. The age of subjects ranged between 19-25 years.  Speed endurance was selected as a variable for the study which was measured by repeated sprint test. To determine the level of Physical fitness, descriptive statistics was used and to determine the difference between Batsmen and Bowler on physical fitness variable (speed endurance) in Independent t-test was used to compute the data and level of significance was set at 0.05. There is no significance difference between Batsmen and Bowlers in respect to their speed endurance. Since the obtained value of t-test 1.82 is lower than 2.02 tabulated value.
